Choosing the right ring size is important for comfort and everyday wear. At House of Carats we use simple alpha sizing so you can easily find the closest fit.

Our sizes range from XS to XL.

Please note: UK and EU sizes include half and quarter sizes, so they are not identical substitutes for US sizing. However the difference is very small and generally does not affect the overall fit, especially as fingers naturally swell slightly throughout the day.

If you are between sizes, we usually recommend choosing the larger size for comfort.

Tips for the Best Fit

• Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is slightly larger.
• Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold, as fingers will be smaller.
• Rings with thicker bands can feel tighter, so consider sizing up if you prefer a looser fit.
• If you are between sizes, choose the larger size.

Sizing and fit

What stones do you use?

Lab-grown moissanite and lab-grown diamond simulants like crushed ice cubic zirconia. Our moissanite is D colour, VVS clarity, the top grades on both scales. Each product page says which stone the piece uses.

What metal do you use?

Most of our pieces are sterling silver, we use Rhodium and 18k Gold Plating on our jewellery. For more details, see individual item's product description.

Is your jewellery hypoallergenic?

Yes. Nothing we make contains nickel or cadmium, so it is suitable for sensitive skin.

Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?

No green marks: that comes from the cheap base metals we don’t use. Sterling silver can dull over time if it is left in water or sprayed with perfume, and a quick polish brings it back. Stainless steel pieces can be worn in water.

How long will my order take?

We send orders within 1 to 2 working days. UK delivery then takes 1 to 3 working days, or 1 to 2 with express if you order before 1pm. International delivery takes 3 to 10 working days. Every order is sent tracked and insured. During peak sales periods such as Black Friday, please allow an extra 1 to 2 working days for us to send your order.

What does “made to order” mean?

It means your piece is made for you after you order, not picked from a shelf. We source the stones and set them for your piece, which is how we keep our moissanite at D colour and VVS clarity, the top grades on both scales. It takes 2 to 4 weeks, and most arrive sooner.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Of course. You have 30 days from the day your order arrives, as long as the piece is unworn, with its tags on, in its original packaging. The only exceptions are earrings (for hygiene), made-to-order pieces and gift cards.

How do I find my ring size?

Every ring page has a size chart, and if you’d rather be certain, you can order a ring sizer first. One tip from us: if you’re between sizes, go smaller. Most of the rings that come back to us were ordered a size too big.

I’m buying a gift and don’t know her size.

Earrings and necklaces are the safe choice, as they need no size at all. For a ring, our adjustable styles fit most hands, or order a ring sizer and find out without giving the game away.

What if I order the wrong ring size?

No problem. Return the ring through the Returns Centre and order the size you need, and we’ll get the right one to you as quickly as we can.
